Yoga Classes

Healthy happy guts mean happier days, literally. So we're tapping directly into our digestive system during this class with asanas to stimulate and enhance the functioning of our important digestive organs, including the large intestine which is an important organ to focus on in the autumn season. We'll also do a little balancing and cleansing pranayama (breathwork) with a version of alternative nostril breathing I learned in my kundalini practice. Today we travel deep into the hamstrings, shoulders, and the inner magic within, focusing on connection or union, the very definition of Yoga. We begin with hip and leg openers, then move through some vinyasas, standing poses and journey our way to pyramid pose with reverse prayer hands. We will also play with balance in eagle pose, warrior pose and 3-legged mountain pose. All levels welcome. Two blocks and maybe a cushion or two are recommended but not required. Enjoy an hour-long class focused on heart openers and stretching and strengthening the front portion of the body including the psoas, chest, and abs. 60-Minute Hatha Vinyasa Yoga Class for all levels, beginner to advanced. This class focuses on the energy of the Autumn Equinox and the transition from summer to fall. We will focus on balancing our body, breath, and mind to align with the equinox energy of balanced day and night. We will also hone into the seasonal change. Fall offers us an opportunity to slow down, find a little more stillness and reflect on what we are ready to release from our lives that are no longer serving us and make space for planting new intentions. We will do some Suya Namasakar A & B (sun salutations) to build heat and lung capacity, then open up through the shoulders, spine and hips to release stuck energy and tension. This 60-minute, all level class focuses on stretching and strengthening the spine and side body. We will flow in and out of side stretches, and balances throughout class as well as a little pranayama (breathwork and meditation) focused your hand mudra of choice. All poses are modified using a chair as a prop, which will be helpful for anyone with limited mobility, or if you simply want stretch while seated (Yes, you can sneak in some yoga during the work day!) In this 12 minute yoga set, we will stretch all sides of the hips and thighs, the legs, and the spine.
